Partly inspired by Phlegmata's review of the live 'Hanx' album by STIFF LITTLE FINGERS, I was wondering what other live albums you all rate? I'll start with these:-

It's Alive - RAMONES
Live At The Roxy - SOCIAL DISTORTION
Live In A Dive - SUBHUMANS
Liveage - DESCENDENTS
All This And More - DEAD BOYS

Some good choices Old School... interesting to read you rate both CRASS and EXPLOITED.

I recently picked up a good X live disc too... not that Whisky one from the 80s (X just wasn't X without Billy Zoom) but one called 'Live In Los Angeles' - much more rocking.

What about that live CLASH 'Shea Stadium' CD? I've not heard it yet - may get it when I head back to the UK - any opinions?

I never really found out why everyone thinks these two bands hate each other . Ive never read an interveiw where Crass have slagged Exploited i think its in Ian Glasper book where Steve Ignorant says they played together once and he says Wattie was a decent bloke [or somthing along those lines] Now i could understand if Crass slagged Special Duties

I guess the whole rivalry between CRASS and EXPLOITED has been created outside of the bands themselves. They're the two most obvious polemics of the two Punk scenes of the day. I read that comment of Steve Ignorant's too.
As for Special Duties? Not a fan... the attack on CRASS was very poor and their 'Colchester Council' kinda mirrored ideals no doubt stolen from MENACE.
And Blair - 'Kick Out The Jams', classic!! Of the same era, THE STOOGES 'Metallic KO' deserves a mention.

I remember reading about all that rivalry back in the early 80's! I thought it was just all fuckin' stupid! From what I gather, a lot of it came down to Gary Bushell writing shit...

But of course, it all still goes on today... where there's stupid squabbling humans and egos...

Ha ha, I probably know about it all better than most...

Oh - the live album part of 'Christ - The Album' is OK... that said, everytime I play the record, it's always the studio stuff!! haha!!
Another cracker is the BIG BOYS/ DICKS split, Live At Raul's Club. That ties in well with Phlegm's thread elsewhere too.
