bites. They truly deserved to live in a squat using candles while making soap out of caustic soda.

I dig Flux Of Pink Indians and Antisect a lot more but Crass have some solid albums.

I wondered how long it would take for CRASS to be listed - especially given my mentioning of them in the Exploited thread. All the singles and first few albums (up to 'Christ - The Album' in fact) are incredible slabs I reckon. And the influence of CRASS waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay exceeds that of Exploited. Any Brit readers go to the Steve Ignorant staging of 'Feeding Of The 5,000'??

They lived in a farmhouse where anyone could stay if they helped out... grew their own food, had their own studio, had their own label... all of which springboarded heaps of other similar minded bands and created a whole new scene... they hated the system and weren't afraid to say so and they weren't a bunch of conservative fucks that seem so prevalent these days...

All sounds pretty good to me! 8)

Certainly achieved a whole lot more than most bands, especially those who're more interested in just playing boring music with no guts to it...

now their kids have become punks and have become the hippy capitalists, they grow their own food while getting coffee, get an 8 track and record their own bands and nobody else, it's the time of selfishness, capitalism won that battle but they won't win the war.

I wouldn't have a clue what their fuckin' kids are up to... I was talking about Crass themselves!

Ha ha, I can't really seem to find any real good reason why I'd want to share my studio either...

Humans, ya try and help them out and they just shit on you!

I learnt that many times over, years ago...

Just gave up...

Hey Tim - dunno if you've done any snooping on the 'Net about this, but Steve Ignorant staged a live performance of 'Feeding...' in London last November. It was definitely NOT a CRASS reformation though. FLUX OF PINK INDIANS, ZOUNDS, CONFLICT and, kinda oddly, DEVIATED INSTINCT among others all played too.

There's a heap of YouTube stuff about, although you can catch a lot via this link:

Gave Crass a spin earlier in the week. Farkin' cool! Not that big on the later era stuff nowdays... I think their peers really excelled and put out better tunes. Lovin' shit like Alternative and Exit Stance.

Crass was about attitude rather than music! As all good punk should be...

I picked up that CRASS biography while in the UK. Not read it yet, but looks like a great read. Odd how this has kinda become a Crass Appreciation thread - or may be not as they were a true legend. Anyone seen the film, 'There Is No Authority But Yourself'?? Well, if not, hit the link below!!

Sweet, I'll watch that when I have the time! Watched the first few seconds... Got to this bit though - "Where are the angry young men and woman of today who are saying this is fuckin' wrong..."

Fuck, I reckon... where's all the anger and energy these days! Punk rock's just a fuckin' joke lately, there's way too many conservative trendy boofhead fucks that just seem to rabbit on about "musical abiltity", yet copy the bands of yesteryear (I'm so good on my instrument... look, I can copy blah blah, my teacher showed me how to) but without any of the anger or energy or sincerity! Bunch of fuckin' university students training to be the upright citizens of tomorrow or old punks who're married and breeding and becoming more consevative with every year their sproggs get older (yes, they're turning into exactly what their parents were)... Where's all the fuckin' energy to punk these days? Punk rock just embarasses me... Ha ha, everybody just seems to go on about how much they like KFC and McDonalds... and how beer is like a God to them! Sedated! Fuck me!
