It was a bit grim when I was there too Mike - that was a few years back now - but considering it was February, it wasn't that great. That said, it was a shit load better than the UK weather that I had just come from!! So, it could be worse mate!!

Ha ha, yeah I've tried to harden up ever since I moved tp Dunedin! Lived all of my life in Nelson previously... Dunedin's a pretty good place to live, but I've gotten to the point where I've decided why live with shitty weather if I don't have to... and I'm trying to get over glandular fever, the cold weather ain't doing nothing to help... and I'd like to have a good garden where I can grow things that don't grow in Dunedin!

Is Akaroa a peninsula Blair? Have only ever been there once, years ago when I was a kid! From what I remember of it, it was quite a nice place... a French settlement, I think!

Yeah, I've heard England's weather is pretty dismal, I don't think I could live there for very long!

I've never been further south than Franz Josef must fix that some time. I hear rents are now comparitively expensive in Dunedin.

Yeah Mike - the British weather sucks the big one!! It was apparently down around minus 10c the past week if some relies back home are correct. Makes Dunedin seem virtually tropical huh?? Haha!!!

Yea Mike, I went all Gooey when I went there as I'd heard about and it's just over the hill as it were, I fuckin chilled hard even though i was only there 4 days, after a hard boohoo year of eye ops and such and not drinkin of course haha, I went and 'saw' dolphins, took my first yacht ride, it helped me not stay in churchtown zzzzz which is all about the people but if they're all workin/schooly then zzzzzzzasfuk, I just seem to be drawn to peninsulas, even in Dunedin, I was like oooh 'what's that!?' driving round to where ewes R, yea i know i musta been an egyptian queen in a past life ba humbug, maybe i just wanna get away from people but still feel connected, ooh here comes the damn hippy.

Akaroa was also where the policeforce started in NZ to control all those damn free people and natives oh and the frenchies, I love all my heriateg that fucked over other people, it mAkes me laugh that one sides no better than the other, I like history, it helps me understand more and how important change of any sort is and i ain't standfing on street corners either or doing a tama iti or partaking perse, I rationalise and realise, i got wise and I'm gonna actualy organise, I am a little at the beck and call of master's but it's like the law, use it against them and then some, It's stupid and absurd and I'm getting stupid but no chaos will ensue except stupid paperwork until we can ban it.

The Nelson area is pretty but i personally find it dull? and ya often need a vehicle to get round to the pretty places etc and the waters cold causea the currants or is that the whole south island? don't worry if you stay there long enough it'llturn into oz:
http://www.stuff.co.nz/4820714a11.html global warming is just wrong waaa

Ban the sugar trade  I Want Peru Cola! but i gotta get holda em first, my mail keeps bouncing doh!

Yeah, rents are pretty dear down here now, not like when I first moved here! Too expensive for a place down at the bottom of the country... though it's still cheaper to live here than most places...though it'll get even more expensive when that Farry arsehole gets his $188,000,000 stadium built (which about 75% of Dunedin's population doesn't want)! I've already had about a 25% rates increase due to that piece of shit! That stadium's another reason for wanting to move...

Minus 10 degrees? Fuck that! I don't even think I've been in tempertures that low! Ha ha, it actually does almost make Dunedin's weather seem tropical... though it's not really the tempertures as such that get to me, it's the really long periods of cloud we can get! Just recently we went through a period where I didn't even see blue sky for about two and a half weeks... just this permanent dark cloud shit sitting on my shoulders (or so it seems)! It sort of makes me feel claustrophobic, it really starts to get on my nerves! I love blue sky, it's so much more cheerful! I can handle bad weather, as long as there's a reasonable balance of good too, it's just when the balance is tipped in favour of the bad that I start getting annoyed! And the bad seems to be getting more and more all the time...

Are you living in Chch Blair? I'd imagine Akaroa would be a rather expensive place to live? Would sure be nicer than right in Chch though! I suppose I sort of do live on a peninsula, though it's the other side that you can see from where I live, that usually gets referred as that! Nelson's quite a nice place, with nice weather, though I don't think I'd want to live there again (unless I won Lotto or something) as it's a rather expensive place to live! And I don't like the way it's changed so much since I moved! Fuck, I can hardly recognise the place now... though living just out of Nelson would be okay, just out country somewhere!

Ha ha, I'd have to go rather more north to be so close to the Arctic though...

Yeah, central North Island has cheap as houses up there! Cheaper than Dunedin! Though it'd mean being in the North Island, which would kinda suck! I'd prefer to stay in the South Island... less people, shit, etc... Trouble is, you start moving futher north up the South Island and house prices go up! Oh well, I'll keep my eyes open... hopefully find a neat place somewhere with no neighbours and improved weather...
