Euro 2008

Managed to see most of the Spain-Italy game this morning which is the first Euro2008 game I've caught . I thought Spain deserved to win since they seemed the better team although I'm not fond of penalty shoot outs.

I'm woefully outta touch with Euro 2008 - although I did catch a couple of games in Taupo a weekend or two ago - Netherlands Vs France and Russia V Greece I think it was.
I always bank on the Italians usually - just cuz I like the country. but shit - the semis are Germany V Turkey and Russia v Spain?? My money is on Spain I guess - although it would be neat to see Russia do it as a bit of an upset.

Yeah, soccer. The second semi-final is about 16 hours so I think the final is some time next week.

I actually predicted the winner!! Usually, as soon as I place any kind of remote allegiance to a team, it represents the kiss of death and not only do the team lose - they go bankrupt!! Haha! That'd be pretty unlikely here though...
Anyone see the game?
And if Spain as a nation now becomes a penniless Third World State - I'd better change my name to Nostrodamus!!

Yeah, I caught the last 60 minutes so missed seeing Torres' goal.
Spain definitely had the better of the game.
It'll be amazing if Spain becomes a third world country. Imagine the influx of English tourists and retirees. :wink:
