What's your favourite work of fiction?? Mine would have to be George Orwell's '1984'. It's something I still read frequently.
Second choice?? Ohhhhhh..... not sure... I really enjoyed Wilbur Smith's 'Elephant Song' and Orwell's 'Animal Farm'. Oh - the extended version of Stephen King's 'The Stand' is stunning too.

Yeah, I really like Wilbur Smith, I'm pretty sure I've read all of his books! He just needs to write some more so I can have a new one to read!

I'm pretty big on authors who write raw dark thrillers like Stephen Leather and Ian Rankin. Not sure what I'd pick as a favourite though.

I forgot CHARLES ROMALOTTI's 'Salad Days' - a great piece of Punk Rock fiction about the fledgling USHC era. Highly recommended!!

I actually interviewed Romalotti in one of the old print issues of Scanner - real good bloke. I got the two books that followed 'salad Days' - not read anything since though.
Talking of fiction kinda stuff, I recently got a book called 'Punk Fiction'. It's a collection of short stories and each story is named after a song, so there's 'Boredom', 'Anarchy In The UK', 'KKK Took My Baby Away' etc etc. It sounds really cliched having written that out, but some of the stories are great - Cathi Unsworth's is about seeing the RUTS. Worth checking out - there'll be a review on the main Scanner site soon.

Hmmm.... Maybe I DO have all three.... I know Romalotti used some of my review blurb for one of those books... 'Talon' I think it was. I'll have to check out the bookshelf when I head back to the UK.... 'The Stickler' certainly seems familiar.
