I've noticed a lot of ads in my local supermarket for carpooling. I'm definitely using my car less and trying much harder to only use it when I really need it. I often take the train and the price has recently gone up ten percent.

basic food items have gone up due to all the plastic they need to wrap it in, the greenies will be smiling from ear to ear but i think some of them are dreaming.

if they had a green car, they'd be happy.

I ride motorbikes, so the increase in the cost of petrol doesn't affect me too much! It costs me $20 to fill the tank now, instead of $15 a year or so ago...

As far as it increasing the price of food... no big deal really, I still eat fuckin' well by the standards of a lot of people around the world... I'm thankful for what I get to eat! I'm not gonna bother bitching about some increase in prices when so many of the world's population is starving!

Though I will bitch about some of the shit that causes the food price increases, like greedy supermarkets and bio fuels! Using food to power cars rather than people is just downright fuckin' wrong! Trust good old George Bush to be pushing it...

Guess I'm about to sound the work-slave capitalist, but I have a company car so I'm not effected TOO much.
But the price of just about everything has risen beyond the average wage increase. What's new there huh?
Kinda crossing over to Mike's sporting topic, before the company car I used a push bike - although that's easy in a small town like Taumarunui.
As for the food industry, the petrol increase has obviously impacted there too. Gotta eat though..
