We'll, not fuckin' huge, but a damn sight bigger than the current one! House is sold, bought another one in the Balclutha area with 3/4 acre! Room for a decent sized vege garden and a good orchard and some chickens etc! There's already lots of plum trees, black currents, grape vine (in a glasshouse) and raspberries! Maybe other stuff will turn up when I have a decent look around... It's more south than Dunedin, but it should have better weather, because... well, it's not Dunedin! Whatever direction you travel in, as soon as you get out of Dunedin the weather improves! Can't wait! Yippee, goodbye Dunedin! What a cold miserable fuckin' shithole! And I get to escape paying for that damn stadium...

That's just as well, cos honestly, these chickens have teeth everywhere! Rows and rows of them and they're sharper than razors! And on top of that, they have acid in all ther orifices... they're from the same planet as the aliens from from the "Aliens" movies! Lay bloody good eggs though!

Fuckin hell Mike - if your chickens have THAT many teeth, and are THAT sharp and in THAT many places, you ever wonder how hard their bloody egg shells are gonna be??
Hahaha!!!
Anyway - that garden sounds awesome - I'm a mite jealous!! I got a grapevine too - first year it's ever even nearly reached a crop this year! There's loads on there - dunno if they will actually be any good though!! I cropped the apple and peach trees right back last year too - so there ain't gonna be much fruit for free in the House of Scanner this year!!
You should do a blog about yr garden exploits - "Punks in Pastures" or something!! You could even make it a Scanner column - how's that for a horticultural offer??!!

Ah yes, but the eggs themselves are virtually identical to the eggs that Planet Earth chickens lay! Though the egg shells are resistant to the acid, of course... and the teeth that are up the egg laying passage thingy are retractable... they only come out when need be! Llike when someone tries to molest them...

Will be interesting to see what variety the grapes are! The grapes are still green, but there's heaps of them! I'm hoping they'll be the black variety... though any variety is all good hopefully! With any luck they may be ripe by the time I move in!

Hopefully your fruit trees will produce good fruit next year! Giving them a good pruning should certainly help!

The plum trees at my new place have heaps of plums on them, but they seem to be mainly the small variety! They taste good though and maybe with a bit of care and attention the plums may grow bigger... Dunno if there's any other fruit trees there, I'll have to have a good look once I've done the move! Everything's rather overgrown at the moment...

I'll have a lot of digging ahead of me to get the vege garden going! But there's certainly heaps of room for a bloody large one! Grow a whole of spuds first time I reckon, they're good for breaking in new ground!

That's a cool idea about the Scanner column re gardening! I could take photos as I go!

Haha - not this year Blair - there ain't enough on them!! The back garden does back on to a local Primary School playing field and a few years ago I did catch a couple of whippersnappers grabbing some peaches... they couldn't get too many to be honest, so I let 'em go - enterprising young fellas!!

And Mike - the column offer is serious if you fancy it. Could virtually do a blog-style thing. Over to you - when do you move in??

Yeah, it'd be a pretty different aspect to a punk site! Growing your own food etc is rather punk I reckon! 8) I could do a blog/website thing and have it linked from your site or something like that! I could do a story of it from day one, from moving in and have photos etc of progress! Ha ha, though progress would probably be slowish for a while! Though I want to get some fruit trees planted as soon as I can and hopefully get a bit vege garden going ready for next summer! Probably start off smallish and have it grow over time! Official moving in date is the 9th of April! Can't wait!

I'd gladly do a link from the Scanner site to a blog like that Mike. Got some seriously large pumpkins coming up too - chuffed!! Anyone like Pumpkin Soup? I have a killer recipe that uses Kumara!! 8)
Although, the best thing I ever had made of Pumpkins was a Pumpkin Pie served as a desert. Awesome...

I was thinking of maybe doing it on my good old MySpace blog! That'd be really cool re the link from your site,! I'll have to take some photos once I do the move, showing what I'm planning on doing and where, etc... and see how things go from there! It'll be bit by bit... though I intend planting some fruit trees straight away! And getting a bit of a vege garden going next year...

Can't really say I'm a great fan of pumpkin, though it sounds like you've got some beautys! Last time I ate pumpkin it made me feel weird! I wonder if I have a bit of an allergy to them...

Went out to the new place yesterday! The grapes are getting ripe! And they're the good old black variety... YAY! Ate some of them, YUM!

Managed to get all the recording finished for my new album! I'll wait until after the move for mixdown though! And then maybe get on with The Pukes album... Ha ha, nothing rushed here...

Just over a month to go until the move! It'll be so good to get out the madness that is too many humans sqeezed into too small a space...

Hahaha!! Yeah - I am way too well aware of too many people. That's the biggest attraction of little ole Taumarunui.

Gotta confess too, I didn't go too much for Pumpkin before my move here but that soup IS killer (tinged with Thai curry tastes and coconut milk too!). I'll post the recipe here sometime. As for my beautys... they'd make you weep!!

Keep me posted about the Myspace/ gardening thing too. I'll post a few comments!!
