Anyone seen Oscar winner 'Slumdog Millionaire'?? And just when did Kate Winslet become so highly regarded?? And, cynical as it maybe, had Heath Ledger NOT died, I'd put money on him NOT getting that Supporting Actor Oscar.
Is that a double-negative - or just simply negative??!!

Heath Ledgers gonna be a hopeless hippys hero as his last movie(yet 2 b released) is about a trippy scientist who takes people on a journey through time that has has unexpected twists and turns, he derservd to die as it sounds like the GE bomb etc etc to me or just another annoying passive agressive hippy, 'don't touch my dog!' 'stop being sick!', 'taking medicine is bad!' or saying awww 2 everything while their house burns down around them, they're thicker than bricks, add: i am part hippy so i hate myself too fuckyou, Winslets been taken seriously since she showd her boobs in Titanic, shows wat a titanic hollywood really is, asian men should really stop being so arrogant and burning witches and when did being sympatheic towards naziism and facism in germany become ok, oh wait BMfuckinW

Yeah, I'd say Heath Ledger pretty much got his oscar etc due to him dying! It'd be interesting if you could go to an alternative reality, where he didn't die and see what the outcome was!

I wanna know how much those kids get paid in the end for Slumdog! I'm betting they'll get fuck all from it! Even though it'll be making God knows how many millions...

I tend to ignore awards shows and announcements but I am keen to see Slumdog Millionaire. Probably will next week if it lasts that long in the local movie theatre.

Houses? They should be getting millions of $... considering how much that movie is gonna make! Those hollywood actors get paid like around US$20,000,000 a movie...

I enjoyed 'Slumdog...' Dunno if it was really worth the eight (or however many) Oscars it got though... Neat story, some good photography - Danny Boyle's come a long way since 'Trainspotting' which was a modern-day classic if ever there was one.
It's pretty grim in parts - least of all the bit where a kid's eyes get burnt out so he makes more money begging on the streets...

I saw it some time ago with my Mexican brother-in-law. It felt a little uncomfortable watching it with him as he's lived in places where he has been around poverty daily where young children are working by selling small goods like chewing gum.

We both enjoyed the movie though.
