Although, the best thing I ever had made of Pumpkins was a Pumpkin Pie served as a desert. Awesome...

That kumera is what we kall sweet potatoe yeh man? Never tried that - whadaya use to get it rich and creamy?

Just a full cream Annie - although I did try using Coconut Cream once and that seemed to work OK.

Hey Mike - what's happening at your new place? Give us some gardening tips bro!!

Made a start on digging up a vege garden and cleaned up the glass house! Planted a Granny Smith apple tree... the Royal Gala's waiting in the shop, but I'll wait until the Nashi's arrived before picking them up! I think I'll get an apricot too... a friend up the road has a couple and says they do real good!

Never been a fan of apricots... they grow OK down there Mike?

And how did your grapes go? Ever thought about home-made wine? I do home-brew beer - often thought about wine but it seems like a lot of work...

Apricots make ya fart good! 8) Yeah, one of our neighbours just down the road has a couple of trees, he says they do real good!

Grapes were really nice, I pigged out on them all! I usually ate a few bunches a day until they were gone!

I'd rather eat the grapes then make wine out of them! Not really too keen on wine anyway...

Finished digging up the lawn for the first vege garden yesterday... now I'll just have to dig it over and do some preperation, though I could probably get away with doing fuck all this year since it's virgin soil! Got a phone call yesterday to say the Royal Gala and Nashi trees have arrived... will go to Dunedin sometime next week and get them...

A wee bit of an update -

Cleared a bit of the bank of crap and rubbish, planted some natives - kowhai, kanuka, coprosma, lancewood, pittisporum... will work out way along the bank over time!

Got a blackberry planted (not the bramble type shit) and some raspberries!

Got some fruit trees planted - granny smith, royal gala, nashi, apricot!

Grape vine is starting to shoot away again after I cut it back during the winter!

All million plum trees are in blossom!

Vege garden is finally dug! Planted some silverbeets that a neighbour gave us!

Beans are starting to pop up that we have in trays in the glass house! Spuds are starting to shoot and can be planted soon!

That's about it in a nutshell! Have doing heaps of other shit too... mainly cleaning up shit and chopping down some trees we don't want! These will be replaced with more natives!

Ohhh Mr. Puke.... this garden of yours makes me jealous!! I spent Sunday afternoon planting some spuds in some old buckets because there's no room in the garden... Parsnips seem to have died in the ground though - not so good. But, the Sage planted a couple of years ago has virtually grown into a tree - do you know if it is still edible when it reaches a height of about 3ft?? Sure hope so!!

Though it's all got to grow yet! It'll be an interesting first year... Spuds should do alright in the buckets I should think! At harvest time you can just tip the buckets upside down and do no digging! I'm assuming you drilled drain holes...? Ha ha, I'm afraid I can't stand parsnips! I don't know much about sage, but I don't see any real reason why it still can't be used! A lot of herbs and shit grows large when left to...

Kez got herself a blueberry plant yesterday and planted it with the other berrys!

Bit of an update - I've had beans, silverbeet, brocolli and lettuce seedlings sitting in the glasshouse for a while now, I've been waiting for the winds to bugger off, but they don't seem to want to... they really need to go out, so I planted them in the garden today anyway! The winds have already blown some of the first leaves off, but hopefully they'll be alright as the the second and third sets of leaves are growing and should be okay for photosynthesis! Hopefully we don't get another frost! The spuds were doing good, but got hit by a frost last Monday night, but they should be okay! I've got a few beans, a couple of zuchinni (plus a couple outside) and tomatoes in the glasshouse... The grapes are doing well, with some small bunches of grapes. Should get some nashi this year, the tree has a quite a few small fruit on it! There's a young fruit tree out the front of the house, I thought it might be a peach, it's looking like it is, as it has small furry fruit on it... Plum trees are going for it, no shortage of those!
