THE best Punk rock 'n' roll band ever - no arguements!! And I mean rock 'n' roll in the way of RADIO BIRDMAN, NBT, MC5 etc - not goddamn Shakin Stevens limp-dick teddyboy crapola.
The band never released a duffer - not even 'All Shook Down' which, admittedly, is the weakest of them all, but hell, any album that starts with 'Merry Go Round' can't be bad!!
If you really want proof - just play 'Stink', 'Let It Be', 'Tim' or 'Pleased To Meet Me'. Classics is too small a word!!

Cool link Blair - I'll have to watch it on the computer at home as the company computers don't have quicktime installed :(

What's the 'Their label?' question toward the end mean?? I'm sure you know the origins of Twin Tone

Twin/Tone wasn't The 'Mats own label, although it was an indie based in Minneapolis and, I guess most importantly, involved 'Mats manager Peter Jesperson in a big way. The label released all the 'Mats albums upto and including 'Let It Be' as well as the early/ good records of SOUL ASYLUM, BABES IN TOYLAND and I think Ween, although I've never been a huge fan of Ween.

I still say they are the best rock 'n' roll band ever seen.

You heard the AGAINST ME version of 'Bastards of Young' Blair?? Surprisingly good - but not a match for Paul and the boys though.

Replacements could blow away Against Me just by cute Tommy farting into a mic. As if Gobble and co could really pull of Bastards of young. All they can pull off is each other!
