hardout. i was telling my flatmate about this film yesterday - directed by the awesome penelope spheeris, who also did 'decline of western civilisation' parts 1 and 2 [1 is the best, its the 80s hardcore one feat. darby crash, fear, X etc.] and..... FUCKIN' WAYNES WORLD!

also one of the only female directors i can think of who has made more than one recognised film

most peepz here i assume will know about that shiz already, recommended but its not the best movie in the world, like 'the warriors'.

Yep, 'Suburbia' is a great film. Make sure it's the Punk version though as Richard Linklater did a slacker-style comedy of the same name in about '97 with a soundtrack that included BUTTHOLE SURFERS, MINISTRY, MEAT PUPPETS, PENNYWISE and SONIC YOUTH. It's OK - but the 80s Punk version is the one to see.

heh on a similar note theres two films called 'Slacker(s)'
one is the Great Debut of Richard 'Overrated' Linklater
the other one is worse, but has jason schwartzman in it.

i will never get the richard linklater thing.

Love the footage of DI in Suburbia and the opening scene with the dog is pretty mental :shock:

Penelope Spheeris' movie Dudes (which has Flea playing one of the main characters) is awesome for about the first thirty minutes and then turns to absolute shit. AVOID.

I remember seeing Suburbia back in the day, but don't really remember anything about it! Maybe I wasn't too impressed... :?: I suppose it'd be pretty cool to see it again sometime and see what I think of it now...
