I've been watching a lot of The Sweeney lately... it was one of my favourite TV shows from when I was a kid! Anyone else like/remember...?

For those of you who've never heard of it, it 's a british cop show from the 70's starring John Thaw and Dennis Waterman...

It has a good smattering of violence and non PC stuff... 8)

I vaguely remember it. Was it roughly the same time as The Onedin Line (which I also vaguely remember) & The Professionals (which I watched again about ten years ago)?

The Sweeney! That takes me back to being a snotty kid at primary school back in the UK!! Yeah, very un-pc!! I don't think many programmes would get away the with sexism and racism (for starters) today. Gotta say too - John Thaw was always cooler than Dennis Waterman. Minder was real lame and as for Waterman's 'singing' career - jeez.... :oops:

It was made between about 1973 and 1977/78. They started making The Professionals about the same time The Sweeney ended!

I liked Minder (mainly for Arthur Daley, he was pretty funny), but yeah, I'd have to agree with Waterman's singing career!
