Punk simply has gotten way too popular over the years! All the "normals" that hated us all those years ago are now listening to punk rock... well, the music anyway! Nothing's changed upstairs for them though... the "normals" still hate us!

Which I suppose is alright, because I don't think a lot of them... baaa baa baaaa...

so-called Punks would enjoy a hearty Big Mac while discussing the 'boring-politico sound' of CRASS and the contribution of George Bush to the current state of the world with Blink 18turd on their slick black I-Pod all geared up to play...

Ha ha, I see exactly this sort of thing on Punkas all the time... maybe not going as far as supporting George Bush though, thank fuck!

I see so many comments slagging off the politics of Crass/Anarcho punk etc all the time, by people who seem to consider the politics to be some sort of outdated way of thinking... too many do seem to be more interested in Blink 182, KFC, Subway, their new Nikes and $500 designer sunglasses... it's everywhere!

Didn't have to look far...

http://forums.punkas.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=47154

So sad... I find it almost unbelievable! I mean, they weren't even taking the piss or anything... they actually played there because they love KFC...

I've been to KFC a couple of times! Once in Blenheim, in about 1983... we went in there and laughed at all the robot citizens eating their American corporate chicken crap... the local fuzz escorted us out of Blenheim... "When are you leaving Blenheim?" they asked... "Oh, about 4 o'clock"... "Do you promise?"

And another time in Nelson, also some time in the early 80's... a group of us went in there late one night and played a bit of havoc... took the lids off heaps of coleslaw containers etc from the fridges and ate a mouthful or so before making vomiting noises and pulling faces etc... and then shoving them all back into the fridge! The staff did nothing... and all the other customers were cracking up too... though I don't know if any of them bought coleslaw or anything in from the fridges that night!

If I'm an old dinosaur that appears to be intolerant or out of step with modern NZ punk, then all I can say is, "thank fuck for that!" I mean, I don't really give a fuck what people do and people can do what they want, but loving multi-national corporations and being proud of it is a bit sad...

as mainstream as they come: "jocks", "bogans" ie: not punk, label is been ensued and you willl be able check back of packaging before consuming.

if they don't get it now they never will, don't care about individuals such as these, I have given up negotiations at this point, I have made a promise which could mean many things and nothing at all, information is power and I am not disorganised or dumb, they say empty words, I call their bluff of vaccuous threats, they want drama I will give them much more.

no matter what time or place it is, right is right no matter how they wish to play it.

All hail Mike Puke - you better stand in the next election mate - you'd get my vote!!

Yep - it's apparent that video was not music terrorism. WHY endorse KFC?? Or MacDonalds... Are there no independent businesses in Chch that would want to attract a band playing on its premises? Oh... guess not... Not enough of the 'cool' guys to go there

And you being a dinosaur Mike?? Well - you remember CRASS, ANTISECT, MDC... as I've said elsewhere mate - different times...

What I find worse is alott of'old' pariahs taking the opportunity to hate the thing they were falsely made as if to prove that humans are all fucked, na just them, they wish to pass on the mantle without the cause for consequence while breeding the next prime minister: sounds mainstreamas to me.

more reason to take action.

slanderous and 'dangerous' geekviliians.

so much for 'community' community of chicken fuckas(the chicken has no choice haha).

Yeah, that's about it, Blair! As much as I feel like saying something in their threads, I just can't be bothered, I know they're not going to listen to anything I say! I'll just keep writing and recording songs and have my say about things that way...

Ha ha, jock rock, there's a new one...

Ha ha, nice to know I'd get at least one vote! You might wanna hear my other policies first though... There'd be a few changes, that's for sure... 8)

It sometimes feels like the next thing to rebel against, for some younger punkers, is old punks... much like how we rebelled against our parents, I suppose! It's like they're trying to reinvent punk or something! But rebelling against older generations and having opposite views, just for the sake of having opposite views for the sake of rebelling against the older generation, is fuckin' stupid... at least rebel against the truly evil shit going on on this planet, if you're going to rebel! If ya know what I mean...?

Why being so self rightious Mike, when you can use, they reviewed your CD and such, are you keeping an eye on me or should we form the next anti anti punk movemant, we all need friends etc

they can say crass sucked but crass made the right people jump, not the weak picking on the 'weakest'.

some say I think too much about it but I won't let it go unless I have too, as I have real cause and affect, love how people say that unless it's them and only listen to part of the story, wow like the media.

humans doh!

Hmmm, dunno if I'm being self righteous or not... just giving my opinion on what I think, I suppose! And if I am being self righteous, then so be it! I guess you have to be a bit self righteous if you have something to say that you passionately believe in, and yet it appears that no one else seems to care about anymore! Until the day we all have microchips implanted in our brains to control our thought patterns, then I'll keep on thinking the way I do... especially as long as evil corporations are treating people like utter shit in order to have total power over the planet, while making maximum profits for themselves! As long as this planet's in a total mess and people are starving and being exploited because of the greed of a few, then I'll keep on hating the people that both perpetrate it and the stupid people who just don't care!

I'm not necessarily talking about Punkas though, I'm just talking about society in general! I have no problem with Matt or anything and he did give my CD a nice review (well, the new one at least)... though I must say, I've never found the Punkas message board to be particulary friendly or anything! It doesn't exactly inspire me much into thinking something like "what a nice friendly punkscene New Zealand has"... all I see is the same old behaviour that has gotten the human race into the shit that it's in in the first place! Which is why I'm not gonna go there anymore, cos I don't want to get dragged into any of it anymore and end up stooping to the same behaviour myself!

I dunno what happened to you and Punkas, but maybe they'll let you back one day! Either that or just don't worry about it... you should still be able to keep in contact with real friends you have on other sites surely!

Even though I go there and post, I understand where you're coming from. I had two years between posts partially due to being flamed(I was also fairly busy at the time). I used to just look at the main site now and again. Every time I went back I didn't see that much that grabbed my interest but somehow became hooked although I could do without the memes and tend to avoid lengthy threads which this one is turning in.

Your sounding like old men as it were while I have RL bugs to pick with them that has gone beyond jest and is many and detrimental to me personally in RL and not with individuals perse.

I'm not a violent man but nor am I nieve.

'I' negotiated with them the first time as they are unwilling to do so and this time they have gone too far, unwilling to recognise or take notice of what affect it has had or did in the past when I had to threaten them as it were to keep me safe - that's too far and now they've just made me angry, ie: don't fuck with me like that. I mean what I say and say what I mean and am reasoanble so will take reasonble action in reaction to a completely unreasoanble affect.
